Martin Currie Investment Management Ltd, the privately-owned investment management firm based in Edinburgh, has signed a five-year deal with IT outsourcer Digica. Under the contract, worth £2 million, Digica will provide IT infrastructure outsourcing and SQL database managed services.
Martin Currie is a successful and rapidly growing company, with the funds it manages now up to £8.4 billion – a rise of more than 30% over the past 30 months. To support the business's planned expansion, while keeping pace with an increasingly demanding user base, Digica is providing a scaleable and sustainable growth path for IT. This also allows Martin Currie's current IT staff to focus on adding value to the business.
Under the new contract, Digica will take responsibility for all of Martin Currie's predominantly Intel-based infrastructure, which will be housed at Digica's Leeds data centre. This includes 30 servers running core back office applications. To support this mission-critical infrastructure, Digica will provide high availability facilities, including back-up and recovery, from its Nottingham data centre via secure dedicated links.
